Today, Gary and I met with Dr. Bleeker (my oncologist at Sanford) and he said there is still disease progression. A couple of the tumors grew over 20% and that likely means my current regimen isn’t working (Doxil Liposomal) so I’ll be starting a new plan that includes pills and infusions (Temozolomide and Avastin). I will go in next Monday (if everything goes as planned) and start the new treatment. Side effects are the usual ones with a couple of changes.
Dr. Bleeker is recommending a referral to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX and we are unsure when that referral will clear. I’m hopeful that in a week or two we will know more about travel dates to Houston. I’m not at all sure that traveling to Houston will be as much fun as a trip to England (note the sarcasm) but I’m so grateful that I’m getting a referral. MD Anderson is known for its cutting edge research, clinical trials, and other treatments for tumors like mine. The big decision will be whether we drive or fly.
Gary is so supportive through all of this. He went camping in our new Ascape Trailer a couple of times recently. A good break amid all of the cancer talk and planning.
Arthur remains his delightfully goofy self!

However you decide to travel, I pray that this will be a trip to remember! You two are great at making those! May God go with you, care for you, and give you hope and healing. 🙏💕
Thanks for the update! Prayers for healing continue! Meanwhile I am so thankful that you continue to live life to the fullest!
